Aston Motes - 1st Term
Aston Motes is a founding board member of /dev/color, a nonprofit that empowers Black software engineers to help one another grow into industry leaders, and most recently was interim leader of the organization.
Aston also serves as a board member for Fast Forward, an accelerator for tech nonprofits. Best known as the first employee at Dropbox, he is a software engineering leader, angel investor, startup advisor, and serial entrepreneur with a deep interest in work at the intersection of music and technology, having served as Director of Engineering at UnitedMasters, a global music distribution company backed by Alphabet and Andreessen Horowitz.
Aston graduated with a degree in Computer Science from MIT, where he did research at the MIT Media Lab. In his free time, you can find him playing with analog synthesizers and, very occasionally, his fusion drum kit.
