Family Matinee: The Bad Plus

Family Matinee with The Bad Plus

A uniquely audacious trio that has crossed into the mainstream to draw jazz fans and rock aficionados alike, the irreverent band of musical outlaws known as The Bad Plus rose to fame a decade ago by transforming pop and rock anthems like Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man,” Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” and Queen’s “We Are the Champions” into epic improvisational journeys. Whatever the origins of the tunes they explore, The Bad Plus has developed a singular group concept and sound that makes for a thrilling ride. For their SFJAZZ Family Matinee performance, the group will present family-friendly material while engaging young audiences in their unique approach to jazz and beyond. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience one of the most distinct and innovative groups in jazz today!

Please note there will be no Family Workshop following this performance. We look forward to seeing you at our next Family Workshops during our World Drum Week this summer!
