African–American Night

Following last year’s thought-provoking inauguration of the Poetry Festival, SFJAZZ Poet Laureate Ishmael Reed curates the second happening, made powerful by the collective improvisation between words and music. Prominent Bay Area African-American poets have been invited to showcase their work Sunday evening, hosted by acclaimed poet (and daughter of Ishmael Reed) Tennessee Reed. Poets include Indira Allegra, Samiat Salami, Vernon Keeve and Boadiba.
