SFMOMA presents: Chris Johanson, Mike Mills and Kateřina Šedá

Don’t miss an illuminating discussion with artists Chris Johanson, Mike Mills and Kateřina Šedá on their recent explorations of social life in Silicon Valley as part of SFMOMA’s Project Los Altos, on view now. Johanson, known for deceptively simple paintings and works characterized by humor and vibrant color, has created five site-specific sculptures for outdoor locations in Los Altos. Mills, the director of Thumbsucker and Beginners, looks at the city’s recent, past, present, and future in his installation A Mind Forever Voyaging Through Strange Seas of Thought Alone: Silicon Valley Project. Šedá's Everything Is Perfect celebrates the ordinary and the unique by inviting Los Altos residents to receive recognition for their everyday talents and attributes. Hear the stories behind these works and more in a lively conversation led by SFMOMA Associate Curator of Public Programs Frank Smigiel.
